New Chickenfoot On The Way
Plus rare early audio of the band is leaked
Chickenfoot bassist Michael Anthony has confirmed that there will be a new album from the supergroup.
In a very brief interview at the National Association of Music Merchants show in California which consisted of precisely one question – "Will there be a new Chickenfoot album?” Michael Anthony revealed that "There will be a new Chickenfoot album.”
The news comes despite each of the members heading in their separate directions for the remainder of 2010 (Joe Satriani is on tour with the Experience Hendrix roadshow while Chad Smith will be playing with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the foreseeable future).
In other Chickenfoot news, two soundboard recordings have been leaked on the internet that were apparently recorded at the very first show that Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony ever played together.
According to the Van Halen News Desk, "Soundboard recordings are very rarely leaked and these are the only recordings that we know of that are floating around (other than the live songs that are on the Deluxe Limited Edition CD/DVD). Another reason why these recordings are special is that these were from a February 2008 Sammy Hagar concert at The Palms in Las Vegas, where Chad Smith and Joe Satriani joined Sammy and Mike on stage. These unrehearsed covers were the very first time that Sammy, Mike, Joe and Chad ever jammed together onstage!"
