New album from Roger Waters?
New material is in the works, but Pink Floyd reunion is a step too far.
In an interview with next month’s Mojo Magazine, the former Pink Floyd bassist says although he had expected his current tour of ‘The Wall’ to be his swansong, he’s now putting together ideas for what could be his first new album since ‘Amused to Death ‘in 1992.
He reveals that the first line is "If I had been God”, going on to say it’s about his "developing obsession with the malign influence of the extremes of religious ideology. It’s a powerful idea. It may prove deeply unpopular, but F**k it!”.
Waters also recently spoke to the Sun and reiterated the fact that he will NOT reunite with Pink Floyd. "I left Pink Floyd for very good reasons”, he says. "And it was the right and proper thing to do. It was over in 1985 and its still over”.
