Neil Young Brings Le Noise

Brand new Daniel Lanois produced album due at the end of September

Neil Young has announced a brand new studio album entitled Le Noise.

The record will be released on 27 September and is the follow up to last year’s Fork In The Road record. And like that album the new one is not exactly conventional.

Producer Daniel Lanois told Rolling Stone magazine "We cut a couple of solo acoustic songs, but the rest is very electric. There's no band, but I got in there with my sonics. There's nothing else out there like it."

The style of the new album goes some way to explaining the format of Young’s current US tour, which sees him performing solo but electric for much of the show.

Le Noise will be released on CD, Vinyl, iTunes initially and then in November it will be released on Blu Ray (suggesting some sort of visual content), and via an intriguing sounding iPhone and iPad App release that, Young explains on his Facebook page, "will be free. It gives you an interactive album cover. Forgive ...my use of the word "album”. I am old school.”

The new album will be Young's 34th studio solo album and remarkably his eighth in ten years.
