It sees him delve into progressive rock territory

Alter Bridge and Slash vocalist Myles Kennedy has premiered the epic title track from his second solo album ‘The Ides of March.’
Clocking in at just under eight minutes, ‘The Ides of March’ opens with almost ‘Stairway To Heaven’ vibes of plaintive guitars and hushed vocals from Myles before evolving into a multi-layered progressive rock anthem of the highest calibre that builds to a satisfying finale.
Far removed from the stripped back sounds of Myles Kennedy’s intensely personal debut solo album, 2018’s ‘The Year of the Tiger’, ‘The Ides of March’ sees Myles plug in his electric guitar and flaunt his musical muscle alongside drummer Zia Uddin and bassist Tim Tournier.
Myles Kennedy says of the song: "Written quickly one night after having a few drinks, it was an attempt to sum up what so many of us felt during the beginning of the pandemic.
"We were bored, frustrated and self-medicating to avoid going stir crazy. What I like about the narrative, is it pushes the idea that if everything is going to Hell, at least try and do it in a celebratory fashion."

Also featuring the Planet Rock A-listed lead single ‘In Stride’, ‘The Ides of March’ is released on Friday 14th May 2021 via Napalm Records.
Produced by Myles’ long-time Alter Bridge collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette, the record was recorded during lockdown and it embraces Myles’ love of rock, blues and country.
Acclaimed by critics upon release, 2018’s ‘Year of the Tiger’ was a 12-track concept album inspired by the loss of Myles’ father when he was a young child.
