Myles Kennedy teases new Slash album saying it's 'riff-based rock 'n' roll'

Myles Kennedy says he has finished his vocals for Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators’ fifth studio album.

In an interview with Heavy Consequence to promote his current North American solo tour, Myles Kennedy was asked about the progress of Slash and co.’s first album since 2022’s ‘4.’

“As far as the progress goes, I think a lot of it is well on its way,” Myles said. “I have to get my vocals recorded. Just have to find a window of time to do that in between the touring and whatnot. I have my vocals written and melodies and lyrics and all that stuff. I just need to get in to the studio and knock it out.”

He added: “As for the direction of the record, it’s still riff-based rock ‘n’ roll with a heavy dose of the blues element that Slash brings, like only he does. It’s some really great stuff. I think it’s going to be another fun one to tour live.”

With his Alter Bridge band mates Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips currently playing Creed shows, certified workaholic Myles Kennedy added to Heavy Consequence that he still wants to make another Alter Bridge album.

Myles explained: “The goal is to get in the studio and make another (Alter Bridge) record, and it’s just a matter of when that record will be released, given everybody’s schedules.

“We are truly an agent and management nightmare in that respect, but they make it work.

“The nice thing about all the things I’m involved with — with Alter Bridge and with Slash and the Conspirators and the solo thing — is everybody loves to work. There’s still that drive there to create, make music, and tour. So that’s how we get it done.”

In a recent chat with Metal Hammer while on the promotional trail, Myles Kennedy revealed he was a huge aficionado of British TV show Grand Designs and its “incredible” host Kevin McCloud.
