Muse Top 2009 Artwork Poll

The Resistance beats Manics to the top spot

The Resistance by Muse has been named the best music artwork of 2009 in a new poll.

Arranged by Art Vinyl, the vinyl picture frame retailer responsible for helping turn some of those useless old vinyls into nice works of art for your wall, the poll named Muse’s fifth studio effort as its best album cover of the year.

Other albums of note in the top fifty include Manic Street Preachers for their controversial Journal For Plague Lovers artwork at number two (it was oddly banned from supermarkets), Green Day for their 21st Century Breakdown and U2 for their No Line On The Horizon which prompted something of a "marmite” reaction from most people (not many album covers as simplistic as this have generated quite so much discussion).

Art Vinyl has been displaying the top 50 nominees in Selfridges on Oxford Street in London for the past month but will be putting the exhibition in various cities around the country over the next month.
