He worked on Motörhead and all of Heep's early albums

Gerry Bron is most closely associated with Uriah Heep, having produced or co-produced eleven of their studio albums. He also helped name the band and managed them for many years.

He was also a label boss, and his Bronze Records label was home to such acts as Heep, Colosseum, Motorhead and The Damned. He managed the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in their very early days and produced their first two albums.

His work was not limited to the rock genre, and he briefly worked with Manfred Mann and Gene Pitney, producing a handful of their singles.

His death was announced yesterday when his son Richard Tweeted: "Very sadly my father passed away yesterday morning very unexpectedly. Rest in peace Dad – we all love you.”

RIP Gerry Bron, 1933-2012
