Motorhead Hit Out At Rip Off Box Set
They advise fans not to buy new collection
Music-News.com reports that Motorhead frontman Lemmy has hit out at the extortionate price of the new Complete Early Years box, which retails at around £250 over here and more than $600 in the US.
"Unfortunately greed once again rears its yapping head," says Lemmy. "I would advise against it even for the most rabid completists!"
The box set has been released without the band's authorisation by a label that owns the rights to their early songs.
Instead Motorhead are advising fans to buy their new live CD and DVD, (The Wörld Is Yours on CD, and The Wörld Is Ours-Vol 1: Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else on DVD) - and the band "hopes fans will choose these new releases over this outrageously expensive box set."
