Nikki Sixx confirms Mötley Crüe are working on UK tour dates
Will they be joined by Def Leppard?!
Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has confirmed the band are “working on” international tour dates, including the UK.
Sixx took to Twitter on Saturday (20th August) to lament the fast-approaching end of Mötley Crüe’s North American Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett.
“10 more North American shows,” Sixx wrote. “GOING WAY TOO FAST. What a great tour.”
When a follower asked him about Mötley Crüe’s future live plans, Sixx replied: “We are working on SA-Mexico-Europe-UK-Asia- etc”
It’s currently unclear whether Mötley Crüe’s upcoming tour dates will see them perform with co-headliners Def Leppard, however back in June guitarist Phil Collen seemingly confirmed they have plans to join forces again.
Asked by Chile's Radio Futuro if Def Leppard have any live dates in South America in the pipeline, Collen replied: "Definitely. Obviously, this year we're touring the States with Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett.
“But the tour is gonna be three years — at least three years — for the album (‘Diamond Star Halos’). Definitely next summer is gonna be Europe. And then South America, Australia and Japan — next year, hopefully at some point, we'll be playing all of those markets."
Commenting on whether the same bands from the Stadium Tour will be involved, Collen replied: “That's what they're talking about. Obviously, I can say, 'Yeah, let's do that,' but we've gotta ask them as well. But I think Mötley Crüe have signed up. So hopefully that's all gonna come, and Joan Jett and Poison. That would be amazing."
It’s highly unlikely Poison will be involved as singer Bret Michaels revealed earlier this month it will be another three years before they hit the road again.
Appearing on SiriusXM show Trunk Nation, Michaels told host Eddie Trunk, "I'm just saying '25 is probably when Poison will put a humongous world tour together and go back out and be incredible. And it'll be awesome."
Poison’s last full UK concert was at the Hammersmith Odeon way back in April 1993.
