Released on Friday 22nd March - the same day The Dirt hits Netflix around the globe - the soundtrack boasts 14 Mötley Crüe classics and four newly recorded songs

Together with ‘Like A Virgin’, the new songs are entitled ‘Ride With The Devil’, ‘Crash & Burn’ and ‘The Dirt (Est. 1981)’, which features rapper Machine Gun Kelly (real name Richard Colson Baker) who plays Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the film.

Ahead of the soundtrack’s release, Mötley Crüe are streaming ‘The Dirt (Est. 1981)’, which you can lend your lugholes to right here:

Nikki Sixx says of the soundtrack: “During the filming of our movie we got excited and inspired to write new music. Getting back in the studio with Bob Rock just fuelled the creative fires for us. To me, the music sounds like classic Mötley. The lyrics were written for the movie and are a reflection of our life.”

The 18-song collection was mastered by Grammy Award winner Dave Donnelly and fan favourites that feature include ‘Dr. Feelgood’, ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’, ‘Kickstart My Heart’, ‘Same ‘Ol Situation (S.O.S.)’, ‘Shout At The Devil’ and the ballad, ‘Home Sweet Home’.

Based on Mötley Crüe’s infamous 2001 collaborative autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, the first trailer for The Dirt premiered on Tuesday.

Clocking in at over two-and-a-half minutes, the trailer follows the band from their embryonic days through to their subsequent success and notorious debauchery. Watch it right here:

Netflix's plot synopsis for the film reads:

“The Dirt is an unflinching and uncensored story about sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll, fame, and the high price of excess. Director Jeff Tremaine (JACKASS co-creator, BAD GRANDPA) shows us just how Nikki Sixx (Douglas Booth), Mick Mars (Iwan Rheon), Tommy Lee (Colson Baker), and Vince Neil (Daniel Webber) took Mötley Crüe from the Sunset Strip to the world stage, and what it meant to become the world’s most notorious rock band.”

Principal production on The Dirt started on the biopic in February 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana a month after the cast members were revealed to the world.

Playing Nikki Sixx, 26-year-old English actor Douglas Booth has starred in an array of films including Noah, Jupiter Ascending and Loving Vincent. Giving Booth his seal of approval, Nikki Sixx described him as “a killer actor.”

28-year-old American rapper Machine Gun Kelly – real name Colson Baker – portrays Tommy Lee in the film. Alongside a career in hip-hop (which has involved him getting into a very public spat with Eminem), Baker has appeared in several movies including The Land, Nerve and Viral.

30-year-old Australian actor Daniel Webber, who plays Vince Neil, shot to fame playing PTSD-hit war veteran Lewis Wilson in Netflix series The Punisher.

However, arguably the best-known cast member is 33-year-old Welsh actor Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars. Rheon, of course, played the evil and twisted Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones.
