Most Of Classic Wishbone Ash Reunite

Only Andy Powell was missing when the former members reunited onstage last week

A private concert for Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash manager Martin Darvill saw the band joined onstage by former Wishbone Ash members Ted Turner, Laurie Wisefield and Steve Upton.

Classic Rock Magazine reports that Wisefield and Turner performed a handful of songs with their former bandmate, while Upton - who hasn't played drums in some years - later joined them onstage to take a bow.

Martin Turner played down any speculation that the semi-reunion had anything to do with any ongoing legal wrangles between himself and Andy Powell - who still tours as Wishbone Ash - telling Classic Rock: "There was no ulterior motive in what you just saw. It was a special treat for the fans. Living in France, Steve Upton has turned down every offer I've made to play with us, but this time he just happened to be in England visiting an Auntie.”

The reunion isn't likely to lead to anything new, apparently. Martin Turner said "If you’re asking whether we’ll do this again then maybe we will. But it would only be on another day like this one.”
