Mick Fleetwood drafts in Pink Floyd, Aerosmith & ZZ Top stars for Peter Green concert
Mick Fleetwood has masterminded a very special one-off concert celebrating the music of Peter Green and the early years of Fleetwood Mac.
Taking place at London Palladium on Tuesday 25th February 2020, Mick Fleetwood has enlisted rock royalty to guest perform at the event honouring the Fleetwood Mac co-founder.
Alongside Mick Fleetwood, amongst those performing are Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, John Mayall, Jonny Lang, Zak Starkey and Bill Wyman.
It's unclear whether Peter Green himself appear at the event. The 73-year-old last toured the UK in 2010.
“The concert is a celebration of those early blues days where we all began, and it’s important to recognize the profound impact Peter and the early Fleetwood Mac had on the world of music,” Mick Fleetwood said.
“Peter was my greatest mentor and it gives me such joy to pay tribute to his incredible talent. I am honoured to be sharing the stage with some of the many artists Peter has inspired over the years and who share my great respect for this remarkable musician.”
Mick Fleetwood’s band will feature Andy Fairweather Low, Dave Bronze and Ricky Peterson, with producer Glyn Johns serving as executive sound producer.
Tickets for Mick Fleetwood & Friends Celebrate The Music of Peter Green will be extremely high in demand when they go on sale at 10am on Friday 15th November.
The event supports Teenage Cancer Trust and a donation from tickets sales will be made to the charity.
