Metallica To Enlist Ozz, Lemmy For Anniversary Shows?
Plus the band will enter the studio early next year for new album sessions
Metallica kicked off their run of 30th Anniversary shows in San Francisco last night and their first show featured guest slots from Biff from Saxon and Diamond head, plus a reunion with former bassist Jason Newsted on the songs Damage Inc and Harvester Of Sorrow
However, according to frontman James Hetfield, they hope to entice Lemmy and Ozzy to some of their other shows this week.
These shows are for the band's fanclub members only and they are taking place tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday.
"It is a fan celebration,” declared Hetfield. "Everyone who’s come along the Metallica ride for 30 years - and we’re constantly wanting to give to the fans what they don’t normally get from some other band or some other connection. So these four shows at the Fillmore are something like that.”
The band have also revealed that they will enter the studio early next year to start work on the follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic.
