Metallica donate £40,000 to Manchester homeless charity at Etihad Stadium gig
Metallica donated a massive £40,000 to a Manchester based homeless charity hours before they took to the stage at the Etihad Stadium last night (18th June).
James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo personally handed over the sizable cheque from their non-profit All Within My Hands Foundation to the owners of Coffee4Craig.
All Within My Hands Foundation tweeted: “Thank you to all the fans attending #MetInManchester tonight for joining @Metallica in supporting @Coffee4Craig, as they support vulnerable people in their community. #MetallicaGivesBack #AWMH”
Coffee4Craig boss Hendrix Lancaster told the Manchester Evening News, the donation will help fund their work helping homeless people over the next year.

He explained to the newspaper: “We got an email from Metallica about six weeks ago inviting us to the gig and saying they would like to make a donation.
"We were treated like absolute VIPs all day. We spent loads of time chatting to the crew and then we had about 10 minutes with the band themselves in a little backroom in the bowels of the City stadium.
"They'd obviously done a bit of research into what the charity does and were really interested in our work. When they handed over the cheque I think they were almost as excited as we were.
"It's an incredible donation and it basically means we can continue operating the service for the next year. It just goes to show what amazing people Metalllica are."
Alongside the donation to Coffee4Craig, Metallica invited 20 rough sleepers to the concert last night via the charity Shelter.

Founded in February 2017, Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation’s aim is to create sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.
Metallica always donate to local charities on pit stops on their tour dates and back in June 2018 gave their entire £85,000 Polar Music Prize money to three separate Swedish charities.
When wildfires were ravaging California in November 2018, Metallica donated $100,000 to wildfire relief efforts through their All Within My Hands Foundation.
