Metallica End Fan Shows With Sabbath Collaboration

Ozzy & Geezer join the band onstage

Published 12th Dec 2011

Geezer joined Metallica for a version of Sabbra Cadabra before Ozzy took to the stage as well and they played Iron Man and Paranoid.

Dave Mustaine later joined Metallica for a handful of songs.

The show was the fourth and last special 30th Anniversary show for fans at San Francisco's Fillmore East. During the week the band were joined by the likes of Lemmy, Biff Byford, Diamond Head, Lou Reed, Bob Rock, Jerry Cantrell, Glenn Danzig, Rob Halford and many, many others.

Former bassist Jason Newsted also performed with the band at each of the shows.

And Metallica also unveiled four songs (one each night) which were written for Death Magnetic but didn't make the cut. Each of the songs was emailed to fan club members after each show. The final "new" song to be performed was called 'Rebel Of Babylon'.

There is no word on what will happen with each of these "new" songs, and each of them has now been removed from YouTube.
