James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo have been making donations to local charities at every date on their WorldWired Tour via their non-profit All Within My Hands foundation, including Manchester Etihad Stadium and London Twickenham Stadium earlier this summer.

Yesterday (Wednesday 14th August), the heavy metal giants handed over a massive cheque for a quarter-of-a-million Euros to the Romanian organisation behind the new hospital, Daruieste Viata (The Give Life Association), ahead of their gig at the National Arena, Bucharest.

When it’s completed, the building will be the first paediatric oncology and radiotherapy hospital in Romania.

Daruieste Viata shared a picture of Metallica handing over the generous donation on Facebook last night:

Ahead of their Etihad Stadium show on 18th June, Metallica gave £40,000 to the Manchester based homeless charity Coffee4Craig and they also invited 20 rough sleepers to the show.

Two nights later at Twickenham Stadium, they handed over cheques for £24,000 to two separate charities, City Harvest London and Magic Breakfast.

In other Metallica news, the band announced yesterday that their WorldWired Tour will visit South America in April 2020 with special guests Greta Van Fleet.

The trek in the Southern Hemisphere will take open in Chile before visiting Argentina and Brazil.
