Metallica donate $100,000 to California wildfire relief efforts
Metallica have donated $100,000 towards wildfire relief efforts in California through their All Within My Hands Foundation.
The money will be split 50/50 between the North Valley Community Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation; both of whom aid victims at evacuation centres alongside other much-needed relief.
Announcing their pledge, Metallica said: “Sadly once again communities in California are experiencing historically devastating wild fires in both the Northern and Southern parts of the state.
“All Within My Hands has made a $50,000 donation each to the North Valley Community Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation; both agencies provide service to victims at evacuation centres and other much needed relief.
“We would like to encourage you to join us in supporting those in need and our first responders in any way you can by donating money, non-perishable food, clothing and other supplies or by giving your time volunteering or providing temporary housing. Every little bit helps.”

The Camp Fire, in northern California, has killed at least 76 people with more than 1,000 people reported missing.
There have also been several other blazes including the Woolsey Fire near Los Angeles which has claimed at least three lives.
Celebrities who have lost their homes in the fires include Neil Young, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, and actor Gerard Butler.
Founded in February 2017, Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation’s aim is to create sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.
Metallica donate to local charities on pit stops on their tour dates and back in June gave their £85,000 Polar Music Prize money to three separate Swedish charities.
Last week Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl hit the headlines last week when he visited Los Angeles County Fire Station 68 and personally cooked a barbecue for firefighters who were risking their lives battling the Woolsey Fire in southern California.
Expressing their gratitude in a post on Instagram, Fire Station 68 wrote: “It was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.
