Meat Loaf Sues Impersonator Over Cybersquatting
Meat is having some trouble with a tribute act
According to TMZ, Meat Loaf is seeking to get control of the meatloaf.org domain name which is currently being used by Meat Loaf tribute act, To Hell & Back: A Tribute To Meat Loaf.
Reports say that the UK based tribute act - real name Dean Torkington - is facing a lawsuit from the real Meat Loaf, who alleges that Torkington registered the domain name in bad faith and that he is using "the domain name to mislead and confuse Meat Loaf fans into thinking he’s the real singer.”
The case is apparently being pursued under the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act and according to his lawsuit, Meat Loaf is seeking control of the domain and $100,000 in damages.
