Meat Loaf To Take Last Bow

Singer has confirmed that his current 'Last at Bat' tour will be his last.

Published 8th Apr 2013

The singer wishes to retire from the stage, saying his recent health problems make the stress of touring too much for him to handle. In 2011 he collapsed during a concert, citing concussion injuries and asthma as the reason. He describes his current health as "fine" but wished to perform live only at his best.

He has described some of the reactions to his cancelled 2007 European Tour as "vicious".

"When your name is on the marquee, you either get the glory or you get the hits" he says. "Over the years, a lot of stones and a lot of arrows have been flying my way. You expect that."

He was forced to cancel the 2007 tour due to a cyst on his vocal cords, and more recently has undergone knee surgery. This year will be his 35th as a live act.
