Matt Mitchell raises mental health awareness with powerful single 'Unavailable'
Planet Rock is premiering the 'Unavailable' video
Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts are releasing a new radio mix of their song ‘Unavailable’ to coincide with World Mental Health Day on Saturday (10th October).
Originally from Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts’s eponymous 2019 debut album, ‘Unavailable’ deals with themes of mental wellbeing.
It tells the story of someone who is trying to find themselves in a world of fast living artistic lifestyle and ending up amongst people that all seem to be trying their luck at doing the same thing.
Behind all the smiles, nights out, bad habits, poker faces, living high life and experiencing many lows; they end up just feeling mentally exhausted and frayed.
The remixed version of ‘Unavailable’ also comes with a new video, which you can watch first on Planet Rock below.

Commenting on ‘Unavailable’, Matt Mitchell said: “For some speaking out about mental health problems can be extremely difficult whilst for others it can roll off the tongue with ease", Matt explains. "In my experience this does not make it any easier or worse and can sometimes relate to the issues in hand. Talking and expressing how one feels can be an amazing relief for people living with mental health issues.
“In these trying times anxiety is higher than ever and to be able to help raise awareness and show support to people that feel could be suffering with a number of related issues like Anxiety / Depression / OCD and many other issues which now have their titles is super important and something that sits close to me.
“1 in 4 people will suffer with mental health problems at some point in their lives. Having some understanding, a shoulder to lean on, someone to listen can make so much difference.
“As we navigate through this pandemic in a World of fast living, expectations above and beyond, social media and all the white noise around us, kindness is key.”
