Matt Cameron Denies Pearl Jam / Soundgarden Tour

The drummer says his two bands won't be touring together

Cameron, who has played with Soundgarden since 1986 and Pearl Jam since 1998, says that rumours of a joint tour featuring the two iconic Seattle bands will probably never happen.

He tells WAAF (via Classic Rock Magazine): "After I play... two hours with Soundgarden, my day is done.

"When I was in my 20s I used to play in a bunch of different bands at once. It’s just part of the job of being a drummer: sometimes you’ve got to do a little juggling. But I’m happy to do it.

"I think when Pearl Jam did the PJ20 show, Chris Cornell came to that and we played some Temple of the Dog stuff, and it was awesome. Maybe there might be a one-off where that could happen, but I’m not 25 any more.”

Soundgarden release their first album in 16 years next month while Pearl Jam are thought to be working on a follow-up to 2009's Backspacer.
