Mason Pulled Out Of Floyd Reunion
Drummer reveals that he didn\'t want to reunite at Jemima Khan\'s house
Nick Mason has revealed that he pulled the plug on a Pink Floyd reunion because it would have taken place at socialite Jemima Khan’s house.
In an interview in the latest Classic Rock Magazine Mason revealed that he had been invited to play at the charity gig in Oxfordshire where Roger Waters and David Gilmour played together. If he had gone it would have been just the second time in 30 years that the surviving members of Pink Floyd had reunited.
However, Mason did not believe that the occasion or the setting was quite right for a full reunion.
"That particular event wasn’t right for a re-formation of Pink Floyd,” Mason told Classic Rock Magazine. "I said I would do it, but it was a charity event for suits, and it felt wrong to turn a small thing into a big deal just because Jemima Khan was in attendance.
"Why play for a lot of posh totty instead of some of the other things we should save that up for – a Live 8 type of thing?”
