Manic Street Preachers announce NHS concerts in Cardiff
One free show and one fundraising show
Manic Street Preachers will play two huge concerts at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena in the run-up to Christmas as a thank you to the NHS for their brave work during the coronavirus pandemic.
The first of Manic Street Preachers’ two gigs takes place on Friday 4th December 2020 and entrance will be completely free for all NHS workers.
The second concert on Saturday 5th December will be open to the general public with all proceeds from ticket sales going directly to NHS charities.
Limited to four per person, tickets to the Saturday concert go on sale from Ticketmaster and the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena from 7pm this coming Friday (10th April).
Manic Street Preachers said: “We wanted to do something to show our appreciation, love and respect for the NHS and its amazing brave workers. One free show and one fundraising show seemed the best way for us to express our deep gratitude for all their heroic work.”
"It's an easy way to respond to the crisis for somebody that plays music, I suppose," frontman James Dean Bradfield added to the BBC.
"In a universal way, we've all got a stake in the NHS, we've all got a connection to the NHS… and they do such an incredibly hard job, and it has just become harder.”
