Published 14th Jun 2011

Our very own Alice Cooper was on hand to present at last night's awards at the IndigO2 in London where ROB ZOMBIE picked up the GOLDEN GOD AWARD for 26 years in the business.

IRON MAIDEN added yet another glistening trophy to their already full cabinet with the BEST UK BAND award.

Saturday night Download Festival highlight, TWISTED SISTER, won the INSPIRATION AWARD and also performed at the ceremony.

Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist GUS G topped a pretty remarkable couple of years since taking over from Zakk Wylde in the band with the DIMEBAG DARRELL SHREDDER award.

NWOBHM legends DIAMOND HEAD, who will take to the stage at next month's Sonisphere Festival, won the SPIRIT OF HAMMER award while the bands they so obviously influenced, METALLICA, ANTHRAX, SLAYER and MEGADETH won the EVENT OF THE YEAR award for next month's Big Four show at Knebworth.

And JUDAS PRIEST, who are about to kick off their Epitaph final world tour, picked up the ICONS award.
