Maiden Gig Axed After Barrier Collapse
The band forced offstage in Rio
Maiden were forced to stop their show in Rio De Janeiro during the first song of their set after the front of stage barrier collapsed and fans started to get crushed on Sunday night.
The band had just started their set and were part way into 'Satellite 15 ... The Final Frontier' when the barrier gave way, and despite the efforts of the security guards, it simply couldn't be fixed. The band stopped playing and frontman Bruce Dickinson had the unenviable task of telling 10,000 fans that the show could not go on.
The band postponed the show until last night when it seemed that the problem was fixed.
