Lzzy Hale rules out permanent role in Skid Row
The Halestorm singer has released a statement
Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale says she’s unable to commit to a permanent role in Skid Row, but she’d love to share the stage again with them at some point in the future.
The powerhouse vocalist, who was voted among the 50 Greatest Rock Singers of All Time by Planet Rock listeners last month, was drafted in by Skid Row to honour four North American shows this summer after Erik Grönwall exited the group due to health reasons.
Lzzy wrapped up the fourth rapturously received US show with Skid Row at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento in California over the weekend, and she’s now taken to social media to reflect on her fleeting tenure.
“My soul is still buzzing from the crazy ride I was just on,” Lzzy wrote on Instagram. “Thank you so much to Rachel, Snake, Scotti, Rob, their amazing crew and the entire Skid Row fan base for putting your trust in me. Thank you for bringing me into your tribe, and allowing me to live inside your legacy for a moment.
“What started out as friends helping out friends, bloomed into something bigger than any of us could’ve imagined.
“I’m overflowing with gratitude.
“This experience of getting to deep dive into Skid Row has given me a rare opportunity to deepen my love for these men I get to call friends. And the soul bonding moments we created together musically will live with me forever.
“And even though this particular time in my life prevents me from committing to a permanent role in Skid Row… I am sending in my official request to the universe that we will be able to join forces again down the road.”
Praising Lzzy and Halestorm guitarist Joe Hottinger, who guested on ‘Youth Gone Wild’ with at the shows, Skid Row guitarist Dave ‘Snake’ Sabo responded: “We had the most amazing time with you and @thejoestorm!!
“Not only are you incredibly talented but you guys are just really great people!! We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to do this.
“This was all like an amazing dream. And, whether you like it or not, you guys are part of the family!! I don’t want to be greedy but I really hope we get to do this again!! Thank you so much for everything! You guys gave us something we’ll never forget!”
After Snake categorically ruled out Skid Row reuniting with Sebastian Bach last week, bassist Rachel Bolan says a few new vocalists have “piqued our interest” but it’s “no one with a name.”
