Lynyrd Skynyrd cancel show following Gary Rossington health scare
Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd have cancelled a show in New York tonight (19th July) after Gary Rossington started experiencing chest pains.
The 64-year-old guitarist and founding member suffered a heart attack in October 2015 that resulted in the band cancelling their final two shows of last year.
Although Rossington has successfully returned to the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd this summer, he is now seeking medical advice following a recent health scare.
The band’s official statement reads: “Lynyrd Skynyrd's performance at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on July 19th has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule the show in the near future.
“Gary Rossington is seeking doctor's evaluation in Atlanta after experiencing some chest pains. Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume their tour once Gary is cleared by medical professionals. We will advise as soon as we have additional information.”
Get well soon Gary.
