Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul announce four May 2019 UK shows
Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul have lined up four new UK shows for May 2019.
Following their triumphant Soulfire Teacher Solidarity Tour in 2018, which benefited The Rock and Roll Forever Foundation’s TeachRock programme, Steven Van Zandt and his band will play headline dates in Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol and London in late spring.
Tickets to the shows go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 1st February.
Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul released their latest studio album ‘Soulfire’ in May 2017 and followed it with their first full UK tour in quarter of a century that autumn.
Last year the band released the expansive three-disc live album, aptly entitled ‘Soulfire Live’, which was recorded in venues across North America and Europe. Guest performers who appear on the album include Richie Sambora, Peter Wolf and a certain Bruce Springsteen; Steven’s band mate of more than four decades.
Steven’s musical hero, Paul McCartney, also guest performed on the 2017 tour at The Roundhouse in London. Introducing him, the Sopranos actor said: “I got a friend of mine who wants to come out and we’ve got to finish some unfinished business, alright. Say hello to Mr Paul McCartney please.”
Steven was making reference to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s Hard Rock Calling gig at Hyde Park in 2012 when the sound was pulled during the encore with McCartney due to a strict curfew by Westminster Council. Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul then performed The Beatles ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ with McCartney.
