Lita Ford Wants Runaways Reunion

The guitarist says that she wants to tour next year

In recent months Ford, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie have all seemingly buried the hatchet on some lingering bad feeling, and that seems to have paved the way for a potential reunion.

In an interview with Metal Underground Ford was asked about whether she would take part in an all-female rock tour.

"I would if it was the Runaways,” Ford said. "There’s all kinds of lineups you can have and all kinds of wonderful musicians. Unfortunately Sandy’s not around anymore, the drummer, and she was such a huge part of the band. I don’t know if Joan Jett would do the band without Sandy. I would, I love Sandy and nobody will ever take her place, but there’s still me and Joan and Cherie. The Runaways had a couple of bass players and they were both great. I would love to do the Runaways again, maybe next year, 2013 would be a good time.”

In the meantime Ford releases brand new studio album, Living Like At Runaway on 18 June. She also hits the road with Def Leppard and Poison in North America in June.
