Back in March, Van Halen singer David Lee Roth made a guest appearance during Van Buuren’s DJ set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami where he performed MC duties as the reworked version of ‘Jump’ played.

Unveiling the studio audio of his ‘Jump’ remix over the weekend, Van Buuren wrote: “It was such an honour that David Lee Roth joined me on stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami this year. Really happy that I got the opportunity to officially release this remix."

Available to download right now via Big Beat Records, you can listen to the remix here:

The press release promoting Van Buuren's ‘Jump’ remix reads: “Armin van Buuren puts his signature, uplifting, progressive, trance spin on the iconic rock anthem, kicking off the remix by isolating front man David Lee Roth’s iconic verse and adding in arpeggiating synths and cowbell for good measure.

“Naturally the remix explodes once it reaches the song’s classic chorus, and never lets go from there, steadily building until an unforgettable climax. Who would’ve thought ‘Jump’ could get any more anthemic?!”

It adds: “Armin’s remix of Jump had its first listen when Van Halen front man David Lee Roth came out during Armin’s Ultra Main Stage performance earlier this year for a performance fans still haven’t forgotten.”

Here’s the original ‘Jump’ video:

Shortly before Christmas last year, Diamond Dave said Van Halen’s return to the stage was “just around the corner”.

Dropping by Vulture magazine’s New York offices, Dave first cryptically hinted at Van Halen’s reunion when he told fans gathered to meet him: “When we come back through town in the summer time and do the original thing, maybe somewhere sporting, maybe with somebody famous, I’ll make sure we get you all tickets so you can see what we do for gainful employment. My mom still wonders.”

During the wide-ranging chat with Vulture, Dave suggested Van Halen are lining up a stadium tour by saying "my rock band will be playing the same place that the Yankees play (the Yankee Stadium)."

Pushed for more information, Dave was a bit more reticent in his response, saying: "Yeah, but I can’t … If I say something on tape here and everybody goes, 'Oh, this leaked…' But, the band will be — I can’t say."

Available to buy right now, the mighty Van Halen grace the cover of issue 14 of Planet Rock Magazine.
