The Californian rockers also reveal details of their new album 'The Getaway'

Red Hot Chili Peppers have premiered their new single ‘Dark Necessities’ and revealed details of their long awaited eleventh studio album.

The single opens with some rather lovely piano riffs and slow building guitars before Flea drops some funktastic bass lines and Anthony Kiedis sings in his trademark style.

Belying the title, it’s a summery feel-good anthem with a stadium-sized chorus that serves as a tantalising taster for new album ‘The Getaway’.

Released across the world on Friday 17th June, ‘The Getaway’ was produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes or Google Play get ‘Dark Necessities’ as a free download. Nice.

7. Go Robot
