LISTEN: Queen share only studio recording of the 'fast' We Will Rock You

Queen have unveiled their alternate version of ‘We Will Rock You’ recorded for the BBC.

Published 17th Oct 2016

The accelerated interpretation of their ubiquitous anthem was recorded for the John Peel show at Maida Vale on 28th October 1977 – the same day 'News of the World' hit the shelves.

A staple of Queen’s live sets in the late seventies and early eighties (as heard on live albums Live Killers, Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl and Queen Rock Montreal) - the Peel performance is the only known studio recording of the fast ‘We Will Rock You.’

Check out the audio and the accompanying lyric video here:

The fast ‘We Will Rock You’ features on Queen’s complete BBC sessions album ‘Queen On Air’, which is released on various formats on Friday 4th November.

It boasts a string of rare recordings from six Queen BBC sessions between February 1973 and October 1977.
