LISTEN: Gov’t Mule share powerful new song ‘Pressure Under Fire’
Gov’t Mule have shared another taster of their upcoming tenth studio album ‘Revolution Come… Revolution Go’.
Weighty in subject matter, the song is an potent call for unity in highly divisive times with Warren Haynes beckoning: “People, we’ve got to share the love, yeah we got share the love!”
Describing the song as “an idealistic resurrection of the ’60s mantra,” Haynes describes it as mourning “the feeling that should have never gone away - the feeling that compels us to try to unite and get involved.”
Released on Friday 9th June via Spinefarm Records, ‘Revolution Come… Revolution Go’ boasts 12 tracks and is described by Haynes as the sound of “a new chapter opening up for the band."
The album was primarily recorded with Gordie Johnson in Austin, Texas with two further tracked produced by Don Was.
The centrepiece for the album is an autobiographical track called ‘Dreams & Songs’, on which Haynes reflects on his career from David Allan Coe’s band in 1980 through to the Dickey Betts Band, the Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule and more.
Gov’t Mule come to the UK this October to play four shows. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
