LISTEN: Foo Fighters stream anthemic new song ‘The Line’

A song that sees the Foos play to their strengths, ‘The Line’ is an uplifting rock anthem that’s custom built to be sung back by fans in stadia across the globe.

Thematically, Dave Grohl says the song is about “a search for hope in this day and age where you feel as if you’re fighting for your life with every passing moment, and everything is on the line.”

Featuring the previously unleashed tracks ‘Run’ and ‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood’, Foo Fighters’ ninth studio album ‘Concrete & Gold’ is released on Friday 15th September.

After months of guessing, this week Dave Grohl revealed that the mystery ‘biggest pop star in the world’ performing on the record is Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake performs backing vocals on the album closer and title track alongside Shawn Stockman of nineties R&B group Boyz II Men.

Starkly juxtaposing the musical output of the two guest stars, Dave says the song ‘Concrete & Gold’ “sounds like if (Black) Sabbath and Pink Floyd made (music together).”

Dave’s good mate and ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ collaborator Sir Paul McCartney also performs drums on an album track.
