LISTEN: Eagles share previously unreleased live version of ‘Hotel California’
Eagles are streaming an early live version of their defining anthem ‘Hotel California’.
Previously unreleased, the recording originates from Eagles’ show at the Los Angeles Forum way back in October 1976 – two months before the ‘Hotel California’ album was released and four months before the title track itself hit record shops.
The Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey penned track went on to sell more than 4million copies in the US alone and it won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1978.
The live track is lifted from the upcoming expanded 40th anniversary edition of ‘Hotel California’, which is released via Rhino Music on Friday 24th November.
Hotel California: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition is released as a 2CD/1-Blu-ray Audio package and features the original remastered album alongside ten previously unreleased live recordings.
Presented in an 11 x 11 hardbound book, the set also features rare and unseen photos from the era, a replica tour book, and an 11 x 22 poster.
There’s also a 2CD version and a single CD featuring the remastered album on its own. Available to pre-order now, various packages are also available via Eagles’ official website.
