LISTEN: Dave Grohl reveals Paul McCartney helped to fix his broken leg

It turns out Macca and Grohl are more than just musical collaborators...

As well as being great chums both on and off the stage, Dave Grohl has now revealed that it was none other than Paul McCartney who helped him after he broke his leg falling off stage at a gig in Sweden in 2015.

'I went to this hospital in Sweden... They said "You have to have surgery. You don't have to have it today, but you gotta do it in the next 3 days." said Grohl, speaking to Absolute Radio's Andy Bush.

'So we thought, okay well let's fly down to London. But I don't know any doctors in London... So I actually texted McCartney and I said "Hey man, do you know any good doctors?" And he hooked me up with this doctor. He looked at my leg and he said "I can fix that", like that!'

Dave, who has worked with McCartney a number of times, including recording the Grammy-winning song 'Cut Me Some Slack' on the Sound City album, went on to describe his friend in glowing terms: 'Paul McCartney is not only the most brilliant rock 'n' roll musician of all time, but if you have his number call him, ask him for a good doctor, because he knows a few!'

Elsewhere in the interview Dave explained that after the ensuing tour - nicknamed 'The Throne Tour' because of his Game of Thrones style chair on stage - he had to re-learn how to walk. 'I thought "Y'know, we need to take a break, I need to learn how to walk again!" And I had 6 or 8 months of physical rehab'.
