Lemmy Re-Records Ace Of Spades For Lager

New version of 1980 classic to soundtrack beer ad

Motörhead have apparently re-recorded ‘Ace Of Spades’ for a new lager commercial.

The Independent reports that the band have recorded a languid, bluesey "half speed” version of the song for a new Kronenbourg 1664 advert which will start to air this Sunday.

Lemmy and his band will be seen in the advert, which carries the strapline "Slow Down the Pace".

The ad was apparently filmed in LA in a bar near to Lemmy’s home which had been dressed to look like a rural French establishment.

Matt Doman, creative director at the advertising agency BBH, admitted Lemmy "was quite challenging but really because he's very protective of the track. We spent a rollercoaster of a day with him in the recording studio."

The song will be available to download from the beer’s official website next week.
