Led Zeppelin unsurprisingly ruled out of headlining Glastonbury Festival 2019

Despite Robert Plant’s repeated assertions that Led Zeppelin will categorically not reform, back in June bookmakers Betway inexplicably made the legendary band joint favourites to headline Worthy Farm in 2019.

Firmly believing Led Zeppelin will miraculously reform, Alan Alger from Betway commented at the time: “Emily Eavis (Glastonbury organiser) has previously spoken about her dream of getting Led Zeppelin to headline Glastonbury, and this year the odds suggest there’s a good chance of that becoming a reality at 2/1.”

According to Glastonbury fan website The Glasto Thingy, speaking to a charity event at Taunton's Brewhouse raising money for St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset last night, Emily Eavis confirmed Led Zeppelin won’t be performing.

Also ruled by Eavis are another firm bookmakers’ favourite, Fleetwood Mac, who are currently in the midst of a North American tour.

Led Zeppelin’s first official photo book ‘Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, featuring input from Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones was released earlier this week.
