KISS’s Paul Stanley blasts ‘pathetic’ Marilyn Manson for sharing Charles Manson cover
Paul Stanley has lambasted Marilyn Manson after the shock rocker posted his version of Charles Manson’s ‘Sick City’ to Twitter.
Hours after news of the cult leader’s death broke on Sunday, Marilyn Manson shared his previously recorded acoustic cover of the murderer’s song ‘Sick City’.

The original song appeared on Charles Manson’s only studio album ‘Lie: The Love and Terror Cult’, which was released to great controversy in March 1970. Marilyn Manson then covered it in 2000, however it hasn’t officially been released.
Voicing his disgust at Marilyn Manson sharing the cover, KISS frontman Paul Stanley wrote: “Pathetic when somebody who’s career never really took off is desperate enough to try for publicity by connecting himself to the news of a murdering scumbag’s death.”

Marilyn Manson’s name is a hybrid of Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. In his autobiography ‘The Long Dark Road Out of Hell’, Manson – real name Brian Hugh Warner – said his stage name is the embodiment of “the balance between good and evil.”
Charles Manson died on Sunday in a hospital in Kern County, California, north of Los Angeles. He was 83.
