KISS to release 40th anniversary limited-edition box set of solo albums
KISS are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their founding members’ solo albums by releasing a limited-edition vinyl box set this October.
On 18th September 1978, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss all released a self-titled solo album on the same day and all four records went on to sell more than 1million copies Stateside alone.
To mark four decades since their release, all four albums will be released as an ultra-limited-edition box set entitled ‘The Solo Albums - 40th Anniversary Collection’ on Friday 19th October.
Limited to just 2,500 copies globally, the box set boasts all four albums on 180-gram heavyweight coloured vinyl that matches its respective cover art; ‘Gene Simmons’ appears in red vinyl, ‘Paul Stanley’ sports purple vinyl, ‘Ace Frehley’ contains blue vinyl, and ‘Peter Criss’ is in green vinyl.
All four albums are housed together in a deluxe black-matte slipcase that features glossy black images of the four artists' faces surrounding a silver-foil print of the infamous KISS logo.
On top of this there are four 12-by-12-inch posters of each album cover, plus an exclusive turntable slipmat that shows all four of artist Eraldo Carugati's iconic, painted album-cover face images all connected together.
The bundle exclusive to KISS’s official website – and limited to 300 copies - also includes a limited-edition t-shirt, coaster and pin sets.
In other KISS news, the band are due to perform on the season finale of America’s Got Talent on US television tonight (19th September).
Available to watch Stateside at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, KISS will open the two hour live show before the 10 finalists take to the stage.
