Kinks May Reunite Without Dave Davies

Ray says his brother may not be part of a reunion

In a new interview with Q Magazine Ray revealed that, despite Dave's dismissal of the idea, The Kinks reunion may still happen.

A few months ago, Dave had said a Kinks reunion would be like "a bad remake of Night of the Living Dead," adding "You've heard of vampires. Well, Ray sucks me dry of ideas, emotions and creativity. It's toxic for me to be with him."

"I can understand what he’s trying to say," Ray said, referring to the reunion comments from Dave. "I think it’s a reference to comebacks in general. The fortunate thing for me is that I was never a sexy frontman. Dave was always the pretty kid. So maybe he feels that way about himself.

"But we’ll do it without him if we have to. The music is the issue."

If the reunion happens without Dave Davies, then it will leave Ray and drummer Mick Avory as the only original members in the band after bassist Pete Quaife died last year.
