In a statement issued today, singer Alan Nimmo told fans he’s undertaking a “three month break to undergo a period of rest & vocal rehabilitation.”

Alan has been having ongoing issues with his vocal cords and last year rescheduled the majority of their November 2016 tour to early 2017 on the advice of an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist.

Their sizeable October 2017 dates in Bath, Birmingham, London, Sheffield and Edinburgh this autumn will now all take place in the second half of January 2018. All tickets are valid for the rescheduled shows.

“As you know I have had yet another set back concerning the recovery of my vocal cords,” Alan told fans.

“Firstly I'd like to once again apologise to you for not being able to carry on at the Wharf in Tavistock on Friday night and also for not being able to perform our shows at Buckley and Steel house festival.

“Unfortunately, it is now clear, that in order for my voice to fully recover I need  to undertake an extended break from performance. As from today I plan to take a minimum of a 3 month break to undergo a period of rest & vocal rehabilitation.”

He continued: “This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to take and fully realise King King will letting down an awful lot of people in the next few months, I can only apologise most sincerely. It would be unfair to our wonderful fans, for me to carry on as I am and risk ruining any further King King gigs.

“I'm working to get fighting fit, both vocally and physically to perform at the top of my game when we return to the stage at the end of year.”

The shows support the release of King King’s eagerly awaited new album ‘Exile & Grace’, which is released on Friday 6th October.

Tickets to the new tour dates are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now. They play the following shows:
