Keith Richards & Ronnie Wood rally behind Mick Jagger after Rolling Stones tour axe
Mick Jagger’s bandmates Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have expressed their support for him after the Rolling Stones postponed their US tour over the weekend.
The Rolling Stones issued a statement on Saturday afternoon telling fans they won’t be going ahead with the US and Canada leg of the No Filter Tour on doctor’s orders.
“Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment,” the band explained. “The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”
Apologising to fans, Mick said on Saturday: “I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on the road as soon as I can.”

Since then, both Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have rallied behind Mick.
Keith wrote: “A big disappointment for everyone but things need to be taken care of and we will see you soon. Mick, we are always there for you!”
Ronnie added: “We’ll miss you over the next few weeks, but we’re looking forward to seeing you all again very soon. Here’s to Mick - thanks for your supportive messages it means so much to us.”

The exact medical condition that Mick is suffering from hasn’t been revealed but The Telegraph is quoting a source claiming it’s “physical injury” he sustained during tour preparations.
The No Filter Tour started in Hamburg, Germany in September 2017 and took in eight UK stadium shows last May and June including three nights in London.
Currently working on their first studio album of new material since 2005’s ‘A Bigger Bang’, The Rolling Stones will also release a new compilation album called ‘Honk’ on Friday 19th April 2019 featuring 36 hits and classic cuts from every studio album from 1971’s ‘Sticky Fingers’ through to 2016 covers album ‘Blue & Lonesome’.
