Kate Bush received the honour from the hand of Her Majesty in a ceremony yesterday at Windsor castle, following a career which has spanned almost 40 years.

In that time she has created 10 albums, first powering her way to the top of the UK charts at age 19 with her now-iconic single 'Wuthering Heights', which you can view below. She has gone on to enjoy many top-10 hits, including Running Up that Hill, King of the Mountain, Babooshka and The Man with the Child in his Eyes.

Bush, now 54, described herself as "thrilled" to receive the honour, joking that she had the perfect place for it - the top of her Christmas tree.

Speaking in a statement after the ceremony, Bush dedicated her CBE to her family, friends and fellow musicians. She remains the only woman to have top five albums in the UK charts for five successive decades.
