Just The Ticket For AC/DC
Aussie legends top ticket sales charts for 2010
AC/DC have sold more tickets worldwide than any other band this year.
The new figures have been revealed by Pollstar who track music industry stats, and it seems that despite AC/DC finishing their tour in June they sold so many tickets in the first six months of 2010 that it is unlikely that any other band will catch them.
Pollstar reports that the band sold a little over 1.82m tickets in the first nine months of the year – just under 500,000 more than their closest competitor (Bon Jovi – 1.36m).
The success of the band’s tour is being credited to the fact that they managed to keep ticket prices down, despite their rivals increasing prices exponentially over the past couple of years.
AC/DC report that their Black Ice World Tour saw them play to 5m fans in 29 countries over 168 performances in two years.
