Judas Priest replace Ozzy Osbourne at Power Trip festival
They perform on the same night as AC/DC
Judas Priest have been drafted in to replace Ozzy Osbourne at Power Trip festival in California this autumn.
The British metallers will perform at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on Saturday 7th October alongside the returning AC/DC.
The Friday night at the three-day mega-festival features Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden, while Metallica and Tool bring things to a close on the Sunday.
In a highly enthusiastic statement, Judas Priest said: "Power Trippers are you ready for some Judas Priest-style Heavy Metal.....!!
“Judas Priest are primed and proud to fly the flag for Heavy Metal at this prestigious festival...... We are ready to raise double horns way up high together keeping the metal faith at this 'bostin' one-of-a-kind Power Trip world event....!"
Ozzy Osbourne made the “painful” decision to withdraw from Power Trip festival on Monday (10th July), telling his beloved fans his body is “not ready yet.” It was due to be his first full live show in five years.
He added that his replacement band at Power Trip are “personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”
The Prince of Darkness' UK & Ireland tour with Judas Priest was originally scheduled for early 2019 and was postponed four times due to the 74-year-old's series of health setbacks.
Judas Priest have since announced their own UK arena tour for March 2024 with special guests Saxon and Uriah Heep.
The band recently finished recording their 19th studio album, which follows 2018’s critically acclaimed ‘Firepower.’
