Judas Priest set to score highest charting album of their career with 'Invincible Shield'

Judas Priest’s phenomenal new record ‘Invincible Shield’ is currently sitting very pretty at Number 2 on the UK album chart.

According to Official Charts Company figures, Judas Priest’s 19th studio album is in second spot at the midweek stage behind pop star Ariana Grande with her latest effort ‘Eternal Sunshine.’

If the 11-track record remains at Number 2, or slips by just one space, by the end of the week, ‘Invincible Shield’ will be Judas Priest’s highest charting album of their legendary 50+ year career.

Their previous career-best was their seminal metal masterpiece ‘British Steel’, which peaked at Number 4 way back in 1980.

Judas Priest’s only other Top 10 albums are 2018’s ‘Firepower’ (No.5), 2014’s ‘Redeemer of Souls’ (No.6) and 1979 live album ‘Unleashed in the East’ (No.10).

Judas Priest kicked off the UK & Ireland leg of the Metal Masters Invincible Shield Tour with special guests Saxon and Uriah Heep last night (11th March) at Glasgow OVO Hydro.

The show saw them debut three songs from ‘Invincible Shield’ – set opener ‘Panic Attack’, ‘Trial By Fire’ and the album title track.

The tour continues at Leeds First Direct Arena on Wednesday (14th March) and it visits Dublin, Bournemouth, Birmingham and London.
