Judas Priest kick off first UK tour in nine years in Glasgow – setlist and photos

Judas Priest kicked off their Metal Masters Tour in Glasgow last night (11th March) with a pulsating hit-packed set.

The blistering show at Glasgow OVO Hydro was the first date of a six-date UK & Ireland tour, Judas Priest’s first on home shores in nine years after being tied into a contract on Ozzy Osbourne's ill-fated No Mores Tours 2 tour.

Fresh from unleashing their 19th studio album ‘Invincible Shield’ to widespread acclaim, Judas Priest kicked off the Glasgow concert with their first-ever live performance of lead single ‘Panic Attack.’

Fellow new album tracks ‘Trial By Fire’ and ‘Invincible Shield’ also had their live debuts, while ‘Defenders of the Faith’ classic ‘Love Bites’ was dusted off for the first time in almost a decade.

As always with perennial crowd-pleasers Judas Priest, the band treated the OVO Hydro crowd to a flurry of seminal anthems including ‘Breaking the Law’, ‘Turbo Lover’, ‘Painkiller’, their trademark cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)’ and set closers ‘Hell Bent for Leather’ and ‘Living After Midnight.’

Earlier in the night, Saxon gave four songs from their new album ‘Hell, Fire and Damnation’ their live debuts – ‘Hell, Fire and Damnation,’ ‘There's Something In Roswell,’ ‘Madame Guillotine,’ and ‘Fire and Steel.’

Also featuring Uriah Heep on the bill, the Metal Masters Tour continues at Leeds First Direct Arena on Wednesday 14th March.
