Judas Priest release statement about Ozzy Osbourne UK tour

Update (22nd October): Ozzy Osbourne reschedules UK tour for February and March 2020

Judas Priest have issued a short statement about Ozzy Osbourne’s No More Tours 2 UK arena tour, which is due to kick off in Newcastle on Friday (23rd October).

Ozzy Osbourne’s ill-fated UK arena tour has already been postponed twice, firstly after he contracted the flu and pneumonia in early 2019, and secondly when Ozzy suffered a serious fall in his bedroom aggravating injuries he suffered years ago in a quad bike accident.

Ozzy fans have been left frustrated as there has been no official word about the UK shows in Newcastle, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin and Nottingham over the next few weeks.

Obviously, the shows aren’t going ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic and Ozzy’s continued recovery, however tickets are still on sale for all seven concerts.

Speaking to Planet Rock's Wyatt earlier this month, Sharon Osbourne exclusively revealed that Ozzy’s tour has been rebooked for 2022.

When Wyatt said promoters will struggle to find available venues once the coronavirus pandemic ends, Sharon replied: “Well that’s the thing right now. No, honestly, you got it right because everybody's booking their tours again for like 2022, and to find availabilities right now, it's crazy!

“Agents and facilities are going nuts, trying to get everybody back. It will be exciting. I think it will be a very exciting time when bands do go back and it'll be joyous.

“Ozzy’s tour has been rebooked,” Sharon continued. “The British tour, he'll be back in (20)22. You know, we just carry on as normal. We've been doing loads of TV shows here and you've got to just keep going until Ozzy can go back live. He’s in the studio right now doing a new album!"

Despite this news story being widely reported, there is still no word from Ozzy’s camp.

However, special guests on the Ozzy Osbourne trek, Judas Priest, have now issued a short statement confirming Sharon’s comments that the trek will take place in 2022.

Judas Priest wrote: “Unfortunately due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19 the Ozzy Osbourne/Judas Priest UK/European 2020 tour has had to be rescheduled to 2022...as soon as we have all the dates finalized we will announce them...in the meantime wear your masks, wash your hands and stay safe!”

Judas Priest’s next scheduled UK show is their headline slot at Bloodstock Open Air on Sunday 15th August 2021.
