Journey Album Nearly Done

Producer reveals that the album will be with us in early 2011

Journey are very close to completing their next studio album, according to their producer.

Kevin "Caveman” Shirley, who also just finished producing the Black Country Communion and Iron Maiden albums, revealed in his blog that the album is pretty much completed and the band are aiming for an early 2011 release.

The follow up to 2008’s Revelations is, according to Shirley, a straight ahead rock album with "nary a ballad in sight... Neal is hell bent on rockin' out and he's quite a force to reckon with when he sets his mind on something!”

All that’s left to do, says Shirley, is a bit of tidying: "the new Journey album recording is almost finished - we have a few lead vocals to do, Neal wants to do a few segueways and we'll get to those and the mix in November, and I think that should wrap it up for an early 2011 release...”

A UK tour is likely for 2011 after Neal Schon recently revealed that the band had been getting all kinds of offers on the back of the continued success of ‘Don’t Stop Believing.’
